EAA Scholarships

Scholarships open the doors to the future, providing youth with the necessary support to fulfill their educational aspirations. Regardless of passion and commitment, often times youth don’t have the economic means necessary to pursue their dreams. Don’t let the distraction of financial worries get in the way of a student taking flight in their academic career. Hooley Scholarship

Janet and Lance Hooley, EAA members since 1994, understand how powerful it can be to give wings to the future. With no children or family for whom to provide for, both felt a strong desire to support an organization focused on action, on favorably influencing the lives of others. “EAA has done more for general aviation than everyone else combined,” expressed Lance.

Their estate plan establishes the Hooley Scholarship, scholarship funds to cover the costs of one or more aviation students' flying, tuition, room, and board. As a condition of the scholarship award, the recipient must work as a paid summer intern at the EAA Aviation Center in Oshkosh and meet other criteria regarding academic excellence and skill level.

The Hooleys believe that the scholarship will provide the means for students to get the most out of their educational experience. “The recipients of the Hooley Scholarship will pursue their dream without having to overcome the tremendous disadvantage of having to support themselves while going to school,” Lance said.

Clay Lacy Professional Pilot Scholarship

This scholarship provides highly qualified potential flight students with financial need the opportunity to attend a professional pilot program and participate in flight by living on the EAA Air Academy campus. A possible four scholarships are awarded of up to $12,500 each.

H.P. “Bud” Milligan Aviation Scholarship

This scholarship is a $1,000 renewable scholarship presented to students enrolled in an accredited aviation program at a college, technical school, or aviation academy. Financial need is not a requirement for this award.

Payzer Scholarship

Presented by EAA Aviation Foundation, Inc., the $5,000 Payzer Scholarship enables the recipient to pursue a professional career in engineering, mathematics or the physical or biological sciences. The student must be enrolled, or accepted for enrollment, in an accredited college, university or post-secondary school with an emphasis on technical information.

David Alan Quick Scholarship

Also established by the EAA Aviation Foundation, Inc., the David Alan Quick Scholarship awards $1,000 to a college-level junior or senior in good standing. The applicant must be pursuing a degree in Aerospace or Aeronautical Engineering.

Washington County Pilot’s Association Scholarships

The Washington County Pilot’s Association endows three scholarships yearly to students from high schools in Washington County, Indiana. Each scholarship provides tuition for EAA’s AeroScholars I and AeroScholars II programs.
